Who am I?

The Short Story

Tyrone Douglas was born in Brisbane Australia to very Irish parents, he started his education as an actor there as a teenager and then completed his bachelor in acting in oslo, Norway. After years of traveling he then completed his masters in theatre at KHIO.

making him as they say "a master."

He has lived in Oslo for the last 12 years and now calls it "hjem" despite being in constant conflict with the cold weather. He works as a freelance actor and also as

artistic director for a theatre company called Dårekisten theatre where he has together with the company

created and played in 6 different productions. He has also worked in the institutionial theatre "Teatret Vårt" in Molde.

He writes, devises plays, and directs, often acting in the same works. people have commented that Dårekistens

pieces are "like a breath of fresh air in the theatre world". His research from his Master degree has given him numerous  unique insights into acting and directing, together with a down to earth attitude they make theatre which is serious, entertaining and original.

His long martial arts background  has given him a talent for movement, dance and spacial

awareness. He speaks english and Norwegian, and can order beer in Spanish.

Tyrone is creative and hardworking, but it is his questioning and somewhat critical nature which have led him to ask and pursue existential and psychological avenues which are allways a part of his work. This combined with a rock and roll attitude give his work a depth by being able to balance the comedic with the tragic.
